How to use this result
Capacity planning has two different dimensions: concurrent sessions and event rate. A router can have enough memory for sessions yet struggle during a reconnect storm. Keep separate records for normal peak, failure recovery, and maintenance windows.
  • Compare the estimate with a lab test on the exact hardware.
  • Measure CPU, memory, active sessions, RADIUS latency, and queue drops.
  • Test a controlled outage so you know how fast clients reconnect.
